"Getting straight to the point in a way that resonates with your audience"

Hi, I'm Sally,

I live in Darwin and work with businesses around Australia to write content that really reaches their target audience.

I have a background in communications and public education with a state government agency, as well as experience as a teacher of English as a Second Language. I love learning languages myself, a passion which has really honed my writing and communications skills as I play around with words.

Back when I was working in government, I developed a number of public information materials targeting adults with low Language, Literacy and Numeracy levels, as well as publications for the broader public. I have led the development of a series of curriculum-linked teacher guides and training workshops, filling a gap in resources tailored to the unique needs of learners in Northern Australia.

Those who have checked out my blog, Sun, storms and sandals, will know I'm passionate about outdoor living, cooking, gardening, education, and respectful parenting.

I am currently taking on a small number of clients whose projects align with my own personal values, although they don't necessarily have to be topics you've seen me writing about before. Get in touch at the bottom of the page to find out how we can work together.

TESTIMONIALS

"Thanks to Sally for coming on board to create content for our Kleenheat customers.

When we launched the Kleenheat Community Grants, we needed assistance in producing content that appealed to all our customers across WA and the NT and Sally’s experience of living in northern WA and now in Darwin allows us to cater better to our regional customers.

After briefing Sally in, she followed a well communicated and efficient process to create a great result within the proposed timeline. Looking forward to more opportunities to work with Sally!"

FAQ

I've never worked with a copywriter before, how does this process work?

  • After making initial contact and a quick phone conversation to fill me in on the project, I will ask you to complete a Project Brief which I then use to put together a Proposal.

  • Once you agree to the scope, cost and timeframe outlined in the Proposal and make your initial deposit, I get to work researching and creating a skeleton draft or outline.

  • We talk through the skeleton draft together to ensure we're on the same page when it comes to your key messaging and priorities.

  • I create the first draft and send it through to you. You and your team review the copy and give feedback, I then go away and make any required changes. I offer two free rounds of revisions to ensure the final product is exactly what you want.

  • I engage a proofreader to review the final copy before sending it through.

  • Once completed and my final invoice has been paid, I send through my End of Project sign off document which formally hands over ownership of the writing to you.

How much do you charge?

Fees vary significantly depending on the scope of project. Projects requiring a degree of urgency or technical specialisation will inherently cost more than run-of-the-mill copy and ongoing projects will likely earn a discount. After receiving your Brief, I'll put together a Proposal outlining all my fees and charges. If you're after a ballpark figure to know roughly where my pricing sits, an 800 word blog article usually falls around $500-600, whereas editing for an article of that length would be a cheaper option and content writing for a lengthy technical document would cost significantly more. I am able to divide quotes for larger projects into sections, so you are able to prioritise the areas most important to you and ensure you get the best value for money.

What payment methods do you accept?

Direct bank transfer is my preferred payment method, but I do also accept credit card payment by PayPal.
